Ipoh's drinking scene is mostly kopitiam culture: white coffee in old shophouse cafés in the Old Town. Newer cafés — Plan B, Burps & Giggles, Patisserie Boutique on Jalan Sultan Yussuf — have moved into beautifully restored shophouses on the same streets, with brunch menus, espresso and craft beer for visiting weekenders from KL.
