Sultan Azlan Shah Gallery

Personal museum of the late Sultan Azlan Shah, monarch and Lord President

The Galeri Sultan Azlan Shah in Kuala Kangsar commemorates the life of Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah (1928–2014), who served as the 34th Sultan of Perak and as the ninth Yang di-Pertuan Agong (King) of Malaysia. Before ascending the throne, he was Lord President of the Federal Court — the only sultan in modern Malaysian history with a judicial career, and a major figure in 20th-century Malay law.

The exhibits include personal artefacts, judicial robes, royal regalia, photographs and family memorabilia, set in a modest modern building near the palace. It will reward an hour, and is a good complement to the Royal Museum next door.
