SS2 is the most beloved of the PJ sections — a square mile of shophouses, hawker stalls, and old kopitiams that has been the city's de facto food and social centre for fifty years. The central square (technically Jalan SS2/64) is ringed with restaurants and bakeries; the surrounding streets fill in with everything from foot reflexology to mahjong parlours.
Mondays the square is closed for the SS2 Pasar Malam, the largest night market in the area. Any other evening, just walk the perimeter and pick a place to eat.
