Launggret and Parein are for travellers who want Mrauk U's history to spread beyond the main temple cluster. These outlying sites are associated with earlier Arakanese capitals, now reduced to rural traces, shrines, and low-key ruins.
They require more effort than the central monuments and are best visited with local guidance. The reward is context: Mrauk U begins to feel less like an isolated archaeological park and more like one chapter in a longer regional story.
