Lohari Gate

The Lohari Gate ("ironworkers' gate") stands at the north-western corner of the walled city, named after the ironsmiths whose shops once clustered immediately outside it. The gate itself is a plain brick arch repaired many times over the past three centuries, but the lane through it leads directly to the Shah Yousaf Gardezi Mohallah and on to the fort mound. The ironsmiths are mostly gone, replaced by retailers of agricultural hardware and machine parts.
