Carbon Market near the old port is Cebu City's biggest public market — a sprawling, chaotic place selling dried fish, tropical fruit, vegetables, and cheap goods of every kind. Good for dried mangoes, otap biscuits, and tablea (cacao tablets for hot chocolate) as souvenirs.
The malls — SM City Cebu, Ayala Center Cebu, and Robinsons Galleria — cover mainstream retail and international brands. Cebu Wicker Works and the shops near the Provincial Capitol sell locally made furniture and rattan crafts.
