Muelle Bay

A UNESCO biosphere reserve harbour that still functions as the town's ferry pier

Muelle Bay is the natural harbour fronting Puerto Galera town proper — the quiet, administrative side of the municipality, distinct from the busier beach areas at Sabang and White Beach. The bay and the surrounding waters were declared a UNESCO Man and Biosphere Reserve in 1973, recognition of the exceptional coral and marine life in these waters.

The town pier is here, where the bangka boats from Batangas arrive and depart. The promenade along the bay is pleasant for an evening walk, with views across the calm water to the forested hills of the Batangas coast. The town market, local restaurants, and the old church are all within a short walk.
