Sulyap Gallery Cafe

Antique-filled cafe and folk art gallery in a restored colonial house

Sulyap occupies a restored colonial-era house in the old part of San Pablo, its rooms packed with antique furniture, religious icons, folk art carvings, and pre-war ephemera. The owners have been collecting Philippine folk art and antiques for decades, and the result is somewhere between a cafe and an informal museum — you browse the objects while waiting for your food.

The kitchen serves Filipino home cooking: sinigang, adobo, rice dishes, and local sweets. Coffee and calamansi juice are served in mismatched vintage cups. Some of the antiques are for sale. It's an unusual and characterful stop in a city that doesn't have many of them.
