A small island in the San Juanico Strait, fifteen minutes by pumpboat (outrigger) from Tacloban. Clear water, an open view of the city skyline and the great curve of the San Juanico Bridge, and — if you are lucky — a glimpse of pawikan (sea turtle) or a sting ray gliding through the shallows. Cottages are cheap (around PHP 200 in the day, PHP 300 if you stay the night), pumpboat fare is about PHP 40 per head, and the entrance is a token PHP 5. Boats leave from the vicinity of McDonald's in Tacloban; look for the green pumpboat with an orange flag, or the yellow boat marked Oscar and Rebecca.
