Tacloban eats simply and well. The standard is grilled fish or pork served with rice and a sour soup like sinigang, washed down with cold San Miguel — best had outdoors at a karinderya on a warm evening. Downtown around Burgos and Zamora streets you will find everything from local grills to a long-running Indian curry house and an outpost of Shakey's Pizza. For something a little more set-up, head to the cafes around Senator Enage and Apitong Road.
