The Hanok Village and city centre are easily explored on foot. From the intercity bus terminal, the Hanok Village is about a twenty-minute walk or a short taxi ride. Jeonju is a flat city and well-suited to cycling — the city operates a public bicycle scheme with docking stations throughout the centre.
Local buses are cheap and cover the whole city, but routes can be difficult to navigate without Korean. Taxis are plentiful, metered, and inexpensive by Western standards — a ride across the city centre rarely costs more than a few thousand won. Kakao T (the Korean ride-hailing app) works here and simplifies flagging a taxi without speaking Korean.
