Jeonju has no airport — the nearest is Gunsan Airport, 40 kilometres away, which serves limited domestic routes. Most visitors arrive by bus or train.
The KTX high-speed train does not stop at Jeonju station; it stops at Iksan, from where a local train or bus connection takes another 20–30 minutes. Express buses from Seoul's Central City Bus Terminal take about two and a half hours and run frequently throughout the day. From Busan, the bus takes about two hours. The intercity bus terminal in Jeonju is central and well-connected to the city's taxi and local bus network.
Direct buses also run from Seoul's Express Bus Terminal and from Gwangju. If you're coming from Gyeongju or the east coast, a transfer at Daejeon is usually required.
