Jinguashi Shinto Shrine

Hillside ruins of a Japanese-era Shinto shrine above Jinguashi.

Jinguashi Shinto Shrine, also called the Mountain God Shrine, was built in 1933 during the Japanese mining period. Only stone steps, pillars, and foundations remain, but the site still has a strong hillside atmosphere above the old gold-mining settlement.

Come for the mix of history and views. It pairs naturally with the Gold Museum below and the trails around Keelung Mountain.
