Xiao Wulai is Taoyuan's easiest taste of mountain gorge scenery: a green pocket of Fuxing District where waterfalls drop through thick forest and the valley walls close in around the river. The best-known stop is the skywalk, a glass platform suspended above Xiao Wulai Waterfall, with the water and rocks directly below your feet.
It works best as a half-day nature escape rather than a remote wilderness trip. Paths, bridges, and viewing platforms make the main sights straightforward, but the setting still feels far removed from the urban plain around Taoyuan. Go outside peak weekend hours if you want the sound of the waterfall to beat the sound of tour groups.
