Taoyuan has a full complement of Taiwanese food options — night market stalls, beef noodle shops, dumpling restaurants, and the local Hakka cuisine which features preserved meats, pickled vegetables, and pork dishes. The Zhongli area has a significant Southeast Asian migrant worker community, which has produced a pocket of excellent Vietnamese and Thai restaurants alongside its Indonesian and Filipina food stalls — unusual and authentic in equal measure.
