Wat Yansangwararam

Wat Yansangwararam, about 15 km southeast of Jomtien, is a large modern temple complex built in the 1980s under royal patronage. It is scattered across landscaped grounds with a series of pagodas, shrines and a small Chinese pavilion, all set among lakes and gardens.

The signature structure is the Phra Chedi Maha Wachira Mongkol, a tall white pagoda housing relics, with views across the surrounding countryside from the upper terrace. The complex is well kept and quiet — a good antidote to the seafront if you need a change of pace. No entry fee. Combine with the Khao Chi Chan Buddha and the Silverlake Vineyard for a half-day inland trip.
