Wat Chomphuwek

Wat Chomphuwek is a riverside Buddhist temple on Sanam Bin Nam Road in the Tha Sai subdistrict, notable for its collection of unusual temple architecture and for housing an important Mon-style ubosot (ordination hall). The temple belongs to the Mahanikaya sect and has an active community of monks.

The temple grounds are pleasant to walk through, with mature trees, well-tended gardens, and the characteristic mix of old and new building styles found in Thai riverside temples. The compound includes several viharns (assembly halls) with murals worth examining. It is less visited than the temples near the main Nonthaburi pier and consequently quieter; arrive on a weekday morning for the most serene atmosphere.
