One of the most consistently recommended spots in Mae Sariang, Renu is a simple open-fronted restaurant on the river road that does a long menu of northern Thai food without concession to tourist expectations. The khao soi is reliable, the pork dishes are good, and the set meals at lunch are the most economical way to eat well in town.
The owners are friendly and helpful with onward travel information. Come for lunch or early dinner — it tends to close before 8pm.
