Several guesthouses along the west bank of the Yuam operate open-air terrace restaurants facing the water. The menus are similar — Thai standards, a few Western breakfasts, fruit shakes — and the food is competent rather than exceptional. What you are paying for is the setting: a shaded table over the river, with paddies on the far bank and kingfishers working the shallows.
These places are the default option for a relaxed breakfast or a late dinner when the market and local restaurants have shut. Prices are slightly higher than in town but not unreasonable.
