The old town (Kaleiçi) is best explored on foot — the lanes are too narrow for cars anyway. For the rest of the city, Antalya has a reasonable public transport network of buses, trams, and dolmuşes. The Antalya Tramway (AntalyaRay) runs east–west through the city centre, connecting the museum with Konyaaltı Beach. Taxis are plentiful but negotiate the fare before getting in, especially from tourist areas.
Renting a scooter or car is useful for reaching the city's beaches and the day-trip sites (Perge, Aspendos, Termessos). The main car-rental offices cluster around the airport and at the larger hotels. Parking in the old town is a constant problem in summer.
