Lara Beach is the long sandy beach east of the city, backed by the largest concentration of five-star resort hotels in the Antalya area. The beach itself is wide and sandy — better underfoot than Konyaaltı — and the sea is clear and relatively warm by early June. The trade-off is the resort character: most of the beach is divided between hotel guests, and the free public sections can feel crowded.
The beach is best visited in shoulder season (May, early June, or September). In July and August it is genuinely overwhelmed with hotel guests. The Düden lower falls, where the river cascades off a cliff directly into the sea, are at the northern end of the Lara strip.
