Getting Around

Bursa is a large, spread-out city. The main sights cluster around the old city centre — the Grand Mosque, Koza Han, and bazaar district are all within easy walking distance of each other. The Green Mosque and Tophane are each about 10–15 minutes walk further east and uphill.

City buses and the metro (BursaRay) cover most of the city. The BursaRay light rail runs east–west along the valley floor and is useful for getting to the bazaar district from the bus terminal. Buy a Bursakart at any metro station for discounted fares.

Dolmuşes (shared minibuses) are the fastest way to reach Çekirge (thermal baths) from the centre. Taxis are widely available but negotiate or insist on the meter for any longer journey. To reach the cable car station at Teferrüç, take a bus from the city centre; the journey is about 20 minutes.
