Eskişehir sits on the main Istanbul–Ankara high-speed rail line, which makes the train by far the easiest way to arrive. Yüksek Hızlı Tren (YHT) services run several times daily from Istanbul Söğütlüçeşme and from Ankara, taking around 2.5 hours and 1.5 hours respectively. Trains arrive at Eskişehir Garı in the centre of town, with the tram and a taxi rank outside.
Long-distance buses also run from Istanbul and Ankara, taking longer and dropping you at the otogar a short tram ride from the centre. The nearest airport is Hasan Polatkan in the city itself, with limited domestic services, though most flyers use Ankara or Istanbul. By car, the main O-21 motorway is two hours from Ankara and four to five from Istanbul, depending on traffic.
