The Kazdağlı Mosque sits in the lower part of Safranbolu near the Bağlar neighbourhood and dates from the late 17th or early 18th century. It is a smaller, simpler structure than the İzzet Mehmet Pasha Mosque — a single-domed prayer hall with a porch of three arches — but the interior contains some notable painted decoration and is worth entering if the doors are open.
The mosque serves mainly the surrounding residential neighbourhood and sees fewer visitors than the main bazaar mosques, giving it a more authentic feel as a working place of worship. The surrounding streets in this part of town have well-preserved Ottoman houses in various states of repair and decay, a less polished but often more atmospheric alternative to the heavily restored sections of the old bazaar area.
