When to Go

Tekirdağ has a mild Marmara climate — warm summers, cool winters, rain spread fairly evenly through the year with a slight winter peak. The best time to visit is late spring (May–June) or early autumn (September–October), when the weather is pleasant, the vineyards are in good condition, and the waterfront restaurants are fully open without the summer heat. July and August bring Istanbulites on weekend getaways and the city gets noticeably busier.

The grape harvest in September–October is the most interesting time to visit if you are interested in wine and rakı production.
