Abu Dhabi has over 400km of coastline. The main public beach runs along the Corniche, with designated swimming areas, lifeguard towers, changing rooms, and manicured lawns behind it. It opened in 2008 and is popular with families and joggers alike. Further afield, Yas Beach on Yas Island and Saadiyat Beach — a long, calm stretch of white sand — are the top choices, though the latter has become somewhat over-developed with beach clubs.
