The Textile Souk (also called the Bur Dubai Souk) runs along the waterfront on the Bur Dubai side of the Creek, a covered arcade of shops selling Indian silk, Kashmiri pashmina, synthetic fabrics, and tailoring services. It is calmer and more navigable than the Deira souks across the water.
Prices are negotiable and the quality varies considerably — inspect before buying. The souk is within easy walking distance of the Al Fahidi neighbourhood and the Dubai Museum, making it a natural part of a Creek-and-old-city morning. The waterfront view back toward Deira from the souk entrance is one of the more photogenic angles on the old city.
