Majlis Ghorfat Umm Al Sheif is a restored traditional Emirati building once used as a summer residence by Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. Its wind-tower architecture and simple rooms offer a compact look at domestic life before Dubai's modern boom.
The building is small, but it is one of the more tangible historic stops in a city where much of the older fabric has disappeared. It works best as part of a wider look at Jumeirah and Dubai's pre-oil history.
