Dalat takes coffee seriously. The surrounding highlands produce Arabica beans that end up in cups across the country, and the city has a cafe culture shaped by its cool climate: places you want to sit in for hours rather than drink quickly and leave. The wine culture is also worth noting — Vietnam's only commercial winery, Vang Đà Lạt, produces red and white from local grapes grown in the highlands, and you'll find bottles on most restaurant menus.
