Langbiang is the dominant peak of the Central Highlands above Dalat, rising to 2,167m about 12km north of the city. The twin summits are the source of a K'Ho ethnic minority legend about two star-crossed lovers — Lang and Biang — from warring tribes, and the mountain has become a symbol of Dalat itself. The standard route is a half-day hike through pine forest to the lower summit at 1,950m, where the views across the plateau on a clear day justify the effort. Jeep rides to the trailhead and back are available for those who don't want to walk the access road. Local guides from K'Ho villages at the base offer trekking tours that incorporate visits to their communities.
