Anzac Hill

Panoramic sunset views over Alice Springs and the MacDonnells

A short but steep walk from the town centre leads to the summit of Anzac Hill (Untyeyetwelye in Arrernte), from which the view takes in the full extent of the MacDonnell Ranges encircling the town — the red ridges running east and west, the Heavitree Gap to the south, and the town spread across the valley floor. The war memorial at the top is the focal point for ANZAC Day commemorations. Sunset from the hill is the most popular time to climb it.
