Radical Bay is one of Magnetic Island's quieter northern beaches, backed by dry hills and reached by rougher access than the island's main bays. The sand, boulders, and blue water have the same tropical appeal as the better-known beaches, but the extra effort keeps the mood more remote.
Check access before setting out, because tracks can change after weather and are not always suitable for ordinary cars. Walkers who include Radical Bay with nearby Florence or Arthur bays get a fine sample of the island's wilder side without needing to leave the coast for long.
