Cradle Mountain is about 80 kilometres south of Devonport and roughly 140 kilometres west of Launceston by road. A car gives the most flexibility, especially if you want to combine the mountain with the northwest coast.
Inside the visitor area, shuttle buses manage access to Dove Lake during busy periods and when private vehicles are restricted. Check the current park arrangements before assuming you can drive all the way to the lake.
