Marions Lookout is the best return on effort for strong day walkers at Cradle Mountain. The climb is steep and can be slippery, but the reward is a sweeping view over Dove Lake, Crater Lake, and the mountain's broken ridgeline.
It also serves as a taste of the terrain beyond the easy circuits. If cloud is low or ice is present, be conservative; the lookout is not worth a fall, and the lower walks are still excellent in rough weather.
