Day Trips

Barmah National Park — 40 minutes west, this is the largest river red gum forest in the world and a Ramsar wetland. Walks, brolga sightings and the chance to see the historic Barmah Lake.

Yarrawonga and Mulwala — 45 minutes east, the big inland-lake town has the gigantic Lake Mulwala, hire houseboats, and the longest golf course in the southern hemisphere.

Tocumwal — half an hour upstream on the NSW side, the All Sport airfield was a major WWII training base and now hosts a museum and gliding club.

Echuca — 90 minutes downstream, this is the Murray's tourist capital with restored paddle steamers, a long port precinct, and the most river-trade history in one place anywhere on the Murray.
