Cobram's draw is the river. Thompsons Beach is the place most people head — wide white sand under river red gums, with shallow water that warms up enough for swimming by November. A morning at the beach, an afternoon at the SS Adelaide paddle steamer landing or the Strawberry Fields wetlands, and an evening across the Old Bridge to the Barooga Sports Club is a full day's program.
