Eating Out

Cobram itself has the standard country-town pub and café options — the Federal Hotel, a couple of cafés on Main Street, a Vietnamese-Australian bistro that has become a local institution. The fish and chips at the beach kiosk in summer are honest and inexpensive.

The big draw for dinner is across the river at the Barooga Sports Club, which has been the area's main eating destination for decades. For a treat, drive 30 minutes to Tocumwal where the Foundry restaurant does serious country cooking.
