Roadside Fruit Stalls

Direct-from-grower fruit stalls along the highways into town

The country around Cobram is one of Victoria's main stonefruit and tomato districts, and the back roads into town are dotted with grower stalls in season. Peaches, nectarines and apricots peak in January and February; tomatoes start in late February and run through autumn.

The best stalls have an honesty-box and you pay the asking price for boxes of seconds at a fraction of supermarket prices. Look out for them along the Murray Valley Highway either side of town and on the smaller roads toward Barmah and Numurkah.
