Quinn Island Reserve

Island in the Murray with red gum forest and short walking tracks

Quinn Island sits just upstream of Cobram, formed by an old anabranch of the Murray. It's a small reserve of river red gum forest — perhaps half an hour's slow walk — and a good complement to the beach if you want shade and birdsong rather than sun.

A footbridge crosses from the Cobram side. The bird list is solid: laughing kookaburras, sulphur-crested cockatoos, white-faced herons on the riverbank. The reserve is dog-friendly on a leash.
