The Quobba Blowholes are about 75 km north of Carnarvon, and they are worth the drive when the swell is up. Waves hit the limestone platform and force water through holes in the rock, sometimes blasting high into the air with a deep thump.
This is exposed coast, not a gentle lookout. Keep well back from wet rock and rogue waves, then continue to the nearby lagoon if conditions are calm enough for a safer swim or snorkel.
