Cloud 9 is a two-storey wooden bar and pizzeria built on a pontoon and anchored to a reef in the Mamanuca Islands, an hour by boat northwest of Nadi. There is no island, no jetty, no land — just a floating teak deck with a bar, a swimming platform, daybeds, a wood-fired pizza oven, and clear turquoise water in every direction.
Day trips out of Denarau Marina include the boat transfer, a couple of hours at the platform, snorkelling gear, and lunch. The novelty is the point — a wholly artificial "destination" that happens to be in one of the most photogenic spots on earth. It is touristy and pricey but undeniably memorable.
