Maharaj is a long-standing North Indian curry house in the centre of Nadi, popular with the Indo-Fijian community and travellers alike. The strength is the tandoor — order the rogan josh, the butter chicken, or the goat curry with a stack of garlic naan straight out of the clay oven. Fish curry, made with the day's catch, is the local-flavour pick.
A full meal with rice and naan runs about FJ$15-20 per person. Service is brisk; the dining room is air-conditioned, which on a Nadi afternoon is its own reason to sit down.
