Inarajan

Southern Guam village, now officially Inalåhan, known for historic houses and natural pools.

Inarajan, officially restored as Inalåhan, is one of the most atmospheric villages in southern Guam. It sits on the island's quieter southeast coast, away from the resort strip, with old houses, a tight village centre, and a stronger sense of Chamorro continuity than you find in much of the north.

The usual stop is Inarajan Natural Pool, a protected set of rock pools beside the sea. But the village is more than a swim: Gef Pa'go Chamorro Cultural Village gives context to traditional food, crafts, and houses, while Gadao's Cave and Bear Rock add the older landscape of legends and coastal forms.

Inarajan works best as part of the southern loop from Umatac and Merizo. Bring a swimsuit, but leave time to walk the village slowly.

Guide

Getting There

Inarajan is on Guam's southern loop road, about 35 to 45 minutes from Hagåtña by car depending on route and traffic. Most visitors combine it with Umatac, Merizo, and Talofofo Falls in a full-day circuit.

There is no reliable public transport for independent sightseeing here. Roads are generally paved, but village lanes are narrow and parking near the natural pools can be tight on weekends.
