Ad Quintum is one of the places around Elbasan where the Via Egnatia stops being an abstract Roman road and becomes visible on the ground. The site was a road station on the route between the Adriatic and Byzantium, with remains that include baths and service buildings.
It is a modest archaeological stop, not a polished ruin complex, but that is part of its appeal. Visit if you are interested in Roman infrastructure or want to understand why Elbasan mattered: this valley was a corridor, and Ad Quintum was one of the working places that kept traffic moving through it.
