Korçë takes its cafe culture seriously — the xhiro (evening walk) ends at one of dozens of bars along the bazaar streets or in the leafy boulevard Bulevardi Republika. Albanian coffee culture leans Italian (espresso, macchiato) but the older cafes serve Turkish-style coffee from copper pots.
Most cafes serve beer and rakia in the evening; the line between cafe and bar dissolves after dark. Birra Korça on draft, served in proper glasses, is the local drink.
