Gyumri is connected to Yerevan by a good road (the M7 highway, about 125 km, roughly 2 hours). Marshrutkas (shared minibuses) run frequently from Yerevan's Kilikia bus station and cost very little. Taxis are also easy to arrange.
There is a railway connection from Yerevan: the journey takes about 3–4 hours, is considerably cheaper than the bus, and passes through attractive hill country. The train station is close to the city centre.
A small regional airport existed but flights are limited and irregular — check current schedules carefully. Most international visitors arrive via Yerevan's Zvartnots Airport and then travel overland.
