The home ground of the Armenian national football team and one of the few large open spaces in central Yerevan. The Hrazdan Stadium just south is bigger and used for major matches, but the Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium is more central and easier to get to for a midweek game.
Match tickets are inexpensive and atmosphere is genuine: a mixed crowd of working-class fans and football diaspora, with chants in Armenian and Russian. Even outside game days, the surrounding park is a pleasant cut-through walk between Kentron and the southern districts.
