Oskar Kokoschka Haus preserves the birthplace of the Austrian painter Oskar Kokoschka, born here on 1 March 1886. The house functions as a small art museum, with summer exhibitions drawn from public and private collections and curated with the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
It is a specialist stop, but a good one if you are interested in Austrian modernism or want an art-focused detour while travelling around Melk and the Wachau.
