Sharur Regional Museum

Small local museum covering Sharur district history and archaeology

A small regional museum on Shakh Ismail Street documenting the history and archaeology of the Sharur district. Founded in 1978 and operating as a state institution since 1982, the collection holds around 6,000 items including archaeological finds from excavations in the surrounding area. Exhibits cover the region from ancient times through the medieval period.

The museum is modest and labeling is mostly in Azerbaijani, but staff are generally happy to walk visitors through the highlights. Worth a quick stop if you are already in Sharur.
