The Gate of Trier is a surviving medieval defence tower from Bastogne's old town walls. Built in the 14th century, it is one of the few visible reminders of the town's pre-war fortifications.
It is a short stop rather than a full visit, but it adds useful historical context to a walk through central Bastogne.
